The 100-bed Government area hospital in Bhadrachalam is all set to be upgraded into 200 bed facility. The existing area hospital is the major healthcare facility for Adivasis inhabiting the vast tribal hinterland spanning the forest fringe areas along the inter-State borders of Andhra Pradesh and Chhattisgarh. The hospital has been equipped with a range of new facilities including 10-bed Intensive Care Unit. As many as six Labour, Delivery and Recovery (LDR) rooms have been set up in the hospital as part of upgradation of facilities to improve healthcare delivery system. It is poised to become a 200-bed facility with the construction of the new building on the precincts of the old building. Health Minister C. Laxma Reddy is expected to inaugurate the upgraded facility in the area hospital in Bhadrachalam in a day or two.
